As with all Social Enterprises, the Climate Friendly Travel Club has a dual purpose of financial sustainability and social/environmental impact. We will always look for innovative solutions to pressing CFT issues and operate transparently.
Through our linkage with SUNx, we are already contributing to the following socio-economically innovative initiatives targeting LDCs & SIDS:
- Climate Friendly Travel Diploma: This 2-year program is the world’s first online course on Climate Friendly Travel (CFT) for a cleaner, greener, more responsible future. It helps post-graduate students to discover CFT & how it fits with the Paris Climate Agreement, the Sustainable Development Goals and Kunming – Montreal Biodiversity Accord.
- Climate Friendly Travel Chapters in 80+ LDC & SIDS to engage locally.
- Climate Champions – 100,000 planned worldwide by 2030: trained as a catalyst for positive youth inspired change.
- Climate Friendly Travel Registry – for 2050 Climate & Sustainability Ambitions. With 500+ registered travel companies listed, this is the key Travel & Tourism entry point to the UNFCCC Climate Action Portal. It is open to all Tourism companies who commit to CFT and helps to create a 2050 Plan B Climate Action Plan.
- Strong Earth Youth Summit: A tribute to Maurice Strong, this event highlights the need for a clean and green future for the Tourism sector, the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and 2050 Paris Agreement. It aims to promote climate hope through awareness and education, youth empowerment, engagement and action.
